We pretty much avoided Henley during the Regatta, so after lunch at the Flower Pot we walked around a little and discovered a few new streets and a bookstore we had not seen before. Small independent bookstores like this (with used and rare books) are getting more and more scarce in the U.S. and we always enjoy visiting them. I love them because they are crowded and cozy and smell like books. I found a Bill Bryson (Notes from a Big Country) for a pound.
We went for an hour's cruise on the Thames; nothing exciting, just nice and relaxing in contrast to all the hubbub a week ago. Hard to believe we have just a few more days in England.
