The title may be misleading since it's actually poured all day here; however the news from Gualala has been of 100-degree weather, so we're happy. We do love curling up with a book when it's chilly and wet. The stack of books we've finished since the beginning of April is not due primarily to the weather, however--it's the absence of all those little details and distractions that keep you busy when you're at home. We are enjoying some of that "time" people always complain of not having enough of!
This is a photo of the cottage next door--what is there that makes it special? Not it's charming facade or the pretty garden (although those are certainly lovely)--check out those two bottles of milk on the doorstep, delivered fresh this morning. I understand the butcher delivers as well. The Times is placed so close to our door each morning we don't even have to step outside to retrieve it. Ah, English country life.......
