Today, Thursday, Claire & Barb & Darcey went to London for three days; leaving Bill in Henley to fend for himself. He's not capable of understanding the fine art of shopping so they went without him.
There are signs all around the Henley area that motorists should avoid the area from 2 July through 6 July because of the Regatta. Traffic was heavy, but Bill got the ladies to the Henley train station in time for the London train. Later in the day, traffic would probably be impossible.
Getting off the train were large groups of Regatta fans; the women in summer dresses and the men in blazers and boaters; everyone in a party mood. The town is jumping!
There probably won't be much reporting on this blog for a few days unless Bill has an adventure worth commenting on. Claire will report on her trip to London when she returns.
Tomorrow is the Fourth of July and there are no signs of celebration. These people just don't get it! There are fireworks scheduled for Saturday the 5th, but that's for the Regatta. Maybe I'll just pretend.

Happy 4th from across the pond. Be glad you're missing the fireworks brouhaha in Gualala. WE certainly are!
